Performance Chips and Modules

Performance Modules work is by sending a modified signal through a factory sensor in the engine compartment, called the IAT sensor. This signal alters the computer and the computer then reprograms itself for a more efficient air/fuel mixture.

Your vehicle may actually come from the factory running too rich or too lean - meaning too much fuel (rich) or not enough fuel (lean). When you see cars and trucks on the road blowing a lot of black smoke out of their exhaust pipes - This means that their engine is running too rich and they are throwing money away, wasting all of that gas and hurting the environment as all of that black smoke is raw, unburned fuel.

Another instance where a performance chip is useful is when installing an HHO gas generator or complete HHO gas system to convert your vehicle to run with HHO gas. This will often require that you ADD some kind of additional electronics to 'fool' your engine's computer.  Since the addition of clean-burning HHO gas gives your engine's computer the MISCONCEPTION that it's running too lean, it will adjust by adding MORE gas into the air/fuel mixture.  This will work to defeat the gas-saving and performance boosting benefits of your HHO system and could make your engine run too rich.  So by adding a performance chip or tuner module, you can literally dial in the optimum fuel ratio to get maximum benefit from the HHO system.

By modifying the air/fuel mixture to a more efficient mixture, you are tapping into hidden performance, and by gaining performance in your vehicle you do not have to push the gas pedal down as hard to get up to speed.
